Scottish Breast Screening Programme

Scottish Breast Screening Programme (South East Scotland Division)

The NHS offers breast screening to reduce the number of women who die from breast cancer. Screening does this by finding breast cancers at an early stage when they are too small to see or feel. Breast cancer is more common in women aged over 50.

The Scottish Breast Screening Programme aims to screen by mammography (breast X-ray) all women in the 50 - 70 years age range every 3 years.  If eligible you will be sent an informaiton leaflet and breast screening appointment letter.

Please see you doctor if you have any breast cancer concerns.
